Bonamici Reads Dr. Seuss with Kindergartners to Celebrate Read Across America Day
HILLSBORO, OR [03/02/18] – Today Congresswoman Bonamici (D-OR) celebrated ‘Read Across America Day' with kindergartners at Minter Bridge Elementary School in Hillsboro. Read Across America Day is an annual event organized by the National Education Association. The event coincides with Dr. Seuss' birthday.
Bonamici read Dr. Seuss' ‘Oh, the Places You'll Go!' The kindergarten students read the Congresswoman ‘What Do You See?" a book they wrote with their fourth grade reading buddies.
"Every student deserves a quality education, and reading is a fundamental skill that helps students thrive and get the most out of school," said Congresswoman Suzanne Bonamici. "I'm delighted to see these kindergarteners embracing reading and writing, and I appreciate the emphasis that Read Across America Day helps place on these important skills. In Congress, I'll continue to advocate for all of our schools and teachers to have the tools and support they need to help every student learn and succeed."
