Congresswoman Suzanne Bonamici Announces Chief of Staff, District Director
Today Congresswoman Suzanne Bonamici announced her appointment of Rachael Bornstein as Chief of Staff and Abby Tibbs as District Director.
“Constituent service is my top priority,” said Bonamici, “Abby and Rachael have the right combination of experience and proven leadership skills to lead my efforts to serve the First Congressional District. They are committed to working hard on behalf of my constituents, and I am excited to have them on the team.”
Bornstein has years of experience on Capitol Hill, acting most recently as Legislative Director for Congressman Jim Langevin (RI). Prior to joining Langevin’s staff in 2008, Bornstein was a policy advisor to former Congressman Patrick Kennedy, focusing on health care issues. She earned her bachelor’s degree in American government and politics from the University of Maryland, College Park.
Tibbs has extensive experience working in Oregon and Washington D.C. Most recently she served as Chief of Staff for the Oregon State Senate Democratic Caucus. She was responsible for managing both the policy and administrative functions for the caucus office and oversaw the Oregon Senate Democratic Leadership Fund. Prior to returning back home to Oregon, Tibbs spent five years working for public policy organizations in Washington D.C. Tibbs received her law degree from the American University Washington College of Law. She earned an undergraduate degree in psychology from Wheaton College, MA.
