The lawmakers demanded to know more about the federal government’s response to protests that have roiled Portland nightly for nearly two months.
The mayor added that he had asked Wolf to clean up the federal buildings in Portland, which have been covered with graffiti since the nightly protests against police brutality began.
The federal employee who critically wounded a 26-year-old demonstrator on Saturday is assigned to a specialized tactical unit of the U.S.
“In light of the U.S. Supreme Court ruling…we urge the Department of Defense (DOD) to immediately update its policies to eliminate the ban on open transgender military service,” lawmakers wrote in the letter.
But, as with its prior iterations, getting the bill passed might not be easy.
“The short answer is that it is very hard to get anything passed,” Saxon wrote. “It takes a lot of time and effort, particularly when there are other things in Washington, like the pandemic, to deal with.”

Oregon’s Suzanne Bonamici said the investment will pay off and “help us transition to a clean energy economy while creating high quality good paying jobs.”
Nevada’s Dina Titus said it also helps the environment.
House Democrats on Tuesday will issue an ambitious plan to combat climate change, a move intended to reassure their base of supporters but that’s sure to inflame opponents on the right.
The proposal will be released at an event at the U.S. Capitol with Speaker Nancy Pelosi and several other Democratic lawmakers.
