The National Apprenticeship Act of 2021 defines states’ responsibilities in setting up and running the program with annual federal funding and requires the federal departments of Education and Labor to support the creation and expansion of youth apprenticeships, college consortiums and data sharing. The bill is also led by Democratic Reps.

In late 2020, DeFazio, Oregon’s two U.S. Senators and Reps. Earl Blumenauer, Kurt Schrader and Suzanne Bonamici sent the Corps of Engineers a letter asking for additional support for harbor repairs and improvements at Coos Bay, Depoe Bay and Tillamook.
Environmentalists and state and local governments have already taken the EPA to court over the final rule in two separate lawsuits, broadly on procedural grounds.
"The final rule essentially blocks access to the best available science, which could jeopardize the health and livelihood of every person in this country and disproportionately burden Black, Indigenous, and communities of color who are often still waiting for the EPA to fulfill its promise of clean air and clean water," the lawmakers wrote. The letter was signed by Reps.
U.S. Rep. Suzanne Bonamici, D-District 1, said she hopes to work with the Biden administration to beat COVID, address climate, and improve our country's roads and bridges. “These are big challenges ahead, but I’m confident that with a new and willing administration and many colleagues who are committed to meeting those challenges, we will do that,” said Bonamici.

Governor Kate Brown and Representative Suzanne Bonamici shared statements of optimism after Wednesday's inauguration ceremony. The governor began her statement by saying Wednesday "marks a new chapter for our country."
