Bonamici: It’s Time for Comprehensive Immigration Reform
January 29, 2013
Beaverton, Ore. – Congresswoman Suzanne Bonamici today released the following statement in response to comprehensive immigration reform proposals made by President Obama and a bipartisan group of U.S. Senators.
“The proposal offered by President Obama and the framework put forward by the bipartisan group of eight U.S. Senators represent major advancements in the immigration reform discussion. I have heard from countless constituents affected by this complex issue. Whether you’re a nursery owner in Yamhill County, a small technology startup in Hillsboro, or a high school student in Astoria with uncertain legal status, one thing is clear: our immigration system is badly broken. That’s why I am committed to working with all of my colleagues to achieve comprehensive immigration reform. It is long overdue.”
