Bonamici visits Clatskanie for town hall

April 26, 2019

U.S. Rep. Suzanne Bonamici hosted a town hall event at the Clatskanie Cultural Center on Wednesday, April 24, marking the sixth town hall the congresswoman hosted this month in Oregon's First Congressional District.

During the hour-long event, members of the audience were able to ask Bonamici questions about various topics. Subjects included climate change, the Mueller report, how to hold the Trump administration accountable, different policies and committees Bonamici is working on, higher education affordability, immigration policies, and possible Electoral College reforms.

During town halls, Bonamici often draws tickets at random to determine who will ask a question. Due to the small size of the crowd Wednesday night, which was about 25 people, everyone who had a question or comment was able to speak. Earlier this month, Bonamici hosted town hall events in McMinnville, Portland, Astoria, Gaston and Hillsboro.
