Congressional App Challenge

Register for the 2019 Congressional App Challenge! 2019 Submissions accepted until November 1st.

The Congressional App Challenge is a competition for middle and high school students to engage their creativity and participate in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) education fields. This competition is a nationwide event that allows students from across the country to engage in the fields of coding and computer science by creating and exhibiting their software application, or “app,” for mobile, tablet, or computer devices on a platform of their choice.

The “Congressional App Challenge” is open to all middle and high school students in Oregon's First Congressional District. Students entering the competition must submit their app online during the Competition Submission Period from July 8th to November 1st, 2019, as well as provide a YouTube or VIMEO video demo explaining their app and what they learned through this competition process. The Early Incentive deadline is October 1st, 2019.


Can I Participate?

Any student in a participating district, in middle or high school, can compete. Individuals submitting on behalf of teams must meet the eligibility requirements for individual contestants.

To Register

To enter, the student must create an account on and then register for the Congressional App Contest under their participating Member of Congress’ profile during the Competition Submission Period. All entries must be an original in concept, design, and execution.
