Congressional App Challenge

Register for the 2025 Congressional App Challenge!

The Congressional App Challenge is a competition for middle and high school students to engage their creativity and participate in Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math (STEAM) education fields. This competition is a nationwide event that allows students from across the country to engage in the fields of coding and computer science by creating and exhibiting their software application, or "app," for mobile, tablet, or computer devices on a platform of their choice. The Congressional App Challenge is open to all middle and high school students who live or attend school in Oregon's First Congressional District. Students entering the competition must submit their app online during the Competition Submission Period from May 1st 2025 – October 30th 2025, as well as provide a YouTube or VIMEO video demo explaining their app and what they learned through this competition process.

Can I Participate?

Any student who lives in or attends middle or high school in the First Congressional District can compete in the challenge through Congresswoman Bonamici's Office. Students may compete as individuals or in teams of up to four. If competing as a team: at least 50 percent of the teammates must be eligible to compete in the district in which they are submitting their app.
