“Over the years, Democrats and Republicans have had policy differences, but this is way more than a policy difference. This is them dismantling government without the consent of the people,” Bonamici said. “This is not normal. Nothing feels normal right now.”
“I’ve said we’re always trying to find smarter, better ways to do things, but what they’re doing is neither smart nor better,” Bonamici said. "They're not really saving that much money, if at all, and they're doing it without really thought about what they're cutting."

"I would not be where I am today without a public education, and neither would millions of Americans. We must stand up against all efforts to undermine local public schools and the essential services they provide to all students – including those who have a disability or are from marginalized communities."
The housing crisis has many layers of complexity, and it will take all of us working together from multiple angles to solve it. The legislation I’m leading has the potential to quickly increase the amount of affordable housing and the support services people need to succeed.
My D.C. team and I were able to go to the giant room at the Library of Congress where they have the surplus books and pick out several books for the students here and bring them back to Oregon.
