Oregon lawmakers urge Providence, union to make a deal ahead of planned strike

January 9, 2025

Congresswoman Suzanne Bonamici told KGW, "In December I urged Providence & the Oregon Nurses Association to come together in good faith and negotiate a fair contract that provides competitive wages & safe staffing levels so nurses & other frontline health care workers can provide the high-quality patient care Oregonians deserve & expect.

"I continue to urge labor and management to come back to the table and work toward an agreement that will avert an unprecedented and open-ended strike."
