Perry's replacement hits the Hill

A pair of Democratic lawmakers called on the National Academy of Sciences to review EPA's proposed science transparency rule over concerns it would inhibit the agency's ability to protect Americans' health and the environment by limiting the scope of research EPA could consider.

Reps. Suzanne Bonamici (D-Ore.) and Mikie Sherrill (D-N.J.) sent a letter to NAS President Marcia McNutt on Wednesday asking NAS to review EPA's approaches for scientific research and how confidentiality of data collected and analyzed by federal statistical agencies compared to studies that are within the scope of the proposed rule.
