Rep. Bonamici pushing to nationalize Oregon’s Project Turnkey

“When I saw Project Turnkey in Oregon, visited some of the sites, I thought this is a great idea. It’s turning around lives. Let’s scale it up and make it a national program,” said Rep. Suzanne Bonamici (D-Ore.).

Last month, Bonamici introduced a bill to give the Department of Housing and Urban Development a billion dollars a year to oversee the program. The legislation would also provide rental and homeownership assistance for those in need.
