Wake Up Beaverton! hosts annual school supply giveaway

Along with the hundreds of Beaverton families and students lined up to get their free school supplies, U.S. Rep. Suzanne Bonamici was in attendance at the event as well. 

“An event like this means to me that the community is really stepping up and helping families in need, and when children do well in school that helps everyone. It helps the family, it helps the student, it helps our community,” Bonamici said. “So it's exciting to see the volunteer effort, the donations from the community, and so many families here to benefit from the backpack and what's in it that'll get students off to a great start for the school year.”
