Bonamici to Host Student Debt Town Hall Meeting at PSU
Portland, OR – On Wednesday, April 8, at 12:00 p.m. Congresswoman Suzanne Bonamici (OR-01) will host a student debt town hall meeting at Portland State University.
The discussion will feature current students and recent graduates all facing different financial challenges, including rising tuition, affordable child care, and finding jobs that pay enough to cover their monthly student loans. The audience will include PSU and Portland Community College students who will have the opportunity to ask questions and discuss these challenges as the price of college continues to increase.
“Student debt is hurting our economy, holding back many young Americans who are looking to broaden their career options,” Congresswoman Bonamici said. “This will be a valuable opportunity to hear directly from students about the challenges they face and to discuss the legislation we are working on in Washington, D.C. to make college more accessible. Accessible, affordable higher education contributes to a strong economy, but too many feel crushed by their college debt and can’t get ahead.”
This event is open to the public.
