March 9, 2022

Senate expected to pass government funding bill in coming days; includes aid for Ukraine

WASHINGTON, DC [03/09/2022] Today the House passed $10.7 million of funding for ten projects in NW Oregon that Congresswoman Suzanne Bonamici (OR-01) advocated for to prevent landslides, strengthen workforce training, support small businesses, increase access to behavioral health care, and more.

The Community Project Funding was passed as part of the Omnibus Appropriations Agreement to fund the government for 2022. The legislation includes $13.6 billion in emergency aid for Ukraine, and is expected to pass the Senate soon.

"This legislation is a major win for our communities, and I am delighted that it contains funding for ten projects in NW Oregon I championed to increase access to critical services and promote equity," said Congresswoman Suzanne Bonamici. "These projects will make our communities stronger and create new opportunities for families and workers."

"Additionally and importantly, there is also an urgent need to send more aid to the people of Ukraine, who are suffering greatly at the hands of Vladimir Putin's unconscionable war. This bill contains critical funding to provide relief," Bonamici continued.
