WASHINGTON, DC [1/3/21] – Today Congresswoman Suzanne Bonamici (D-OR) released the following statement after being sworn in as a member of the 117th Congress. “I’m humbled to represent the people of NW Oregon for another term,” said Congresswoman Suzanne Bonamici. “This is a challenging time for our country. The coronavirus pandemic has brought stress and grief to NW Oregon and throughout our country. Too many have lost loved ones, and we’ve experienced devastating economic hardship. But Oregonians are resilient, and there is hope on the horizon. I will continue doing all I can to make sure workers, families, businesses, and others have the support they need to get through these challenging times and build back better. I’ll also continue my work to improve lives and create a better future by making quality education more accessible, acting on climate change, and more.
“After four years of chaos and division, I’m looking forward to working with President-Elect Joe Biden and Vice President-Elect Kamala Harris. Together we can undo the damage inflicted by the last administration and return to addressing the needs of the people, making our country more prosperous and equitable for all. There is a lot to do, and I am eager to get to work.”
