Bonamici Sworn in for 6th Full Term in Congress

January 7, 2023

WASHINGTON, DC [1/6/23] –Congresswoman Suzanne Bonamici (D-OR) released the following statement after being sworn in as a member of the 118th Congress.

This begins her sixth full term as the representative for Oregon’s First Congressional District. The new district boundaries include large portions of Multnomah and Washington Counties, along with Clatsop, Columbia, and Tillamook Counties.

“It is a great honor to represent Oregon’s First District for another term in Congress,” said Congresswoman Suzanne Bonamici. “I’m committed to meeting the needs of the people of NW Oregon, and look forward to welcoming Tillamook County and more of Multnomah County into the district. Our communities are vibrant and resilient, and I will do all I can to support policies that will help them thrive.

“This past Congress we passed laws that are already improving the lives of Oregonians, including the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, Inflation Reduction Act, CHIPS and Science Act, and Bipartisan Safer Communities Act. I’m optimistic that, even in a divided Congress, we can continue to build on these significant advancements. I will continue my work to strengthen public education, address the climate crisis, and increase access to affordable housing, child care, and health care. By working together, we can build a better future for all.”
