Congresswoman Bonamici’s Statement on Appointment of Steve Bannon

BEAVERTON, OR – Congresswoman Suzanne Bonamici (OR-01) released the following statement on President-elect Trump’s appointment of Steve Bannon as Chief Strategist in the new administration:

“President-elect Trump said he wants to unite us, but his alarming appointment of Steve Bannon belies his words and is generating fear among Oregonians and people across the country,” said Congresswoman Suzanne Bonamici. “As the head of Breitbart, Bannon fostered intolerance and hatred. We cannot stay silent while the new administration appoints someone who has shown contempt for so many in our country. I will continue to stand up for the American values of equality and human dignity, and I share the concerns of my worried constituents and marginalized communities across the country. I urge President-elect Trump to rescind this harmful appointment.”
