BEAVERTON, OR – Congresswoman Suzanne Bonamici (OR-01) released the following statement on President-elect Trump’s Cabinet’s appointees:

“Intolerance and racism have no place in the White House or in our communities,” said Congresswoman Suzanne Bonamici. “President-elect Trump’s appointments have continued in the intolerant spirit that marked his campaign. In 1986, the Republican-led Senate Judiciary Committee did not support now Sen. Jeff Sessions to be a federal judge because of racially-charged statements — yet the President-elect wants him in the nation’s highest law enforcement position. I will do everything I can to uphold our nation’s commitment to treat all people living in the United States equally, regardless of race, national origin, religion, gender, or sexual orientation.”
