Rep. Bonamici Statement in Response to GOP Lawsuit Against President Obama

Washington, D.C. – Congresswoman Suzanne Bonamici (OR-01) released the following statement in response to the Republican lawsuit against President Obama.

“This lawsuit is a waste of time and taxpayer money. As we prepare to leave for a lengthy in-district work period, it’s frustrating that we are voting on suing the President instead of working on issues that remain undone, like immigration reform, extending emergency unemployment, tax reform, and funding transportation.”

“Instead of bringing those issues to the House floor for a vote, Speaker Boehner has used valuable time to debate a senseless lawsuit. The time we are spending voting on this lawsuit could be spent extending emergency unemployment or talking about how we can put people back to work. The country needs action from lawmakers, not political stunts.”
