Bonamici Statement on Trump's Threats to Iran

Today Congresswoman Bonamici issued the following statement regarding President Trump's threats to Iran: 

President Trump is unhinged and must be impeached or removed from office under the 25th Amendment. Over the past few days he has made dangerous and erratic comments, including threatening to kill a whole civilization, that threaten the safety and stability of the region and the world. His illegal war has already caused the deaths of civilians in Iran, and of American troops. The President's words have weight and his threats have consequences. I have spoken with Iranian Americans who have family in harm's way, and I’ve spoken with military families facing impossible options and are now  worried about the deployment orders they could receive. This must end now. 

The Speaker must reconvene Congress immediately and work to put a stop to the catastrophic escalation and end this illegal war.  And everyone who knows how wrong this is - including Cabinet members and Republican colleagues - must speak up now and put what’s good for the country above what the President thinks is good for him. We must use every diplomatic channel available to restore the United States' damaged standing in the world.
