Member Designated Transportation Projects
Congresswoman Suzanne Bonamici recommended nine transportation projects in NW Oregon receive federal funding as part of the surface transportation reauthorization expected to advance later this year.
The nine Member Designated Projects selected by the Congresswoman are listed here in alphabetical order:
- Beaverton Downtown Loop: Phase 1 Improvements – $4 million (Washington County – Beaverton)
- Boones Ferry Active Transportation Corridor – $4 million (Washington County – Tualatin)
- Hall Boulevard Safety and Active Transportation Improvements – $3.28 million (Washington County – Tigard)
- Main Avenue/OR 104 Pedestrian Route - $1.36 million (Clatsop County – Warrenton)
- Newberg-Dundee Bypass - $8 million (Yamhill County)
- Safety and Smart Technology Investments: Central City, Broadway – $2 million (Multnomah County – NW Portland)
- TriMet Zero Emission Bus Infrastructure – $5 million (Washington County and Metro Region)
- Tualatin Valley Highway Safety Improvements – $4 million (Washington County – Cornelius/Hillsboro)
- U.S. 30: Pedestrian Improvements - $1.6 million (Columbia County – Rainier)
The Congresswoman evaluated projects based on eligibility, community support, climate mitigation and resilience, job creation, and geographic diversity. The projects will now be reviewed by the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee for inclusion in the surface transportation bill, which is expected to advance in the House this summer.
