More lawmakers are now calling on Immigration and Customs Enforcement to investigate the actions of agents toward a Hispanic man who is a U.S. citizen outside the Washington County Courthouse.

Federal lawmakers are calling on U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement to investigate after a U.S. citizen was stopped and questioned outside the Washington County courthouse by ICE agents.

Oregon Congresswoman Suzanne Bonamici, along with fellow Oregon Democrat Earl Blumenauer and Congressmen John Conyers of Michigan and Zoe Lofgren of California, are pressing ICE to look into why a handful of plainclothes immigration agents stopped a Latino man outside the courthouse this week, wrongfully accusing him of being in the country illegally.

WASHINGTON COUNTY, Ore. — Rep. Suzanne Bonamici (D) is calling for an investigation into the questioning of a US citizen by federal agents.

Isidro Andrade-Tafolla, a US citizen, was stopped by two federal agents outside the Washington County Courthouse Monday morning, around the same time a "Sanctuary in the Streets" rally was happening nearby.

HILLSBORO, Ore. (KOIN) — Representative Suzanne Bonamici and Earl Blumenauer are calling for an investigation into the incident in Hillsboro where ICE agents cornered a longtime US citizen outside the Washington County Courthouse.

Isidro Andrade-Tafolla is a United States citizen and has been for more than 20 years. But on September 18, he says he wasn't treated like one.

UPDATED: Congresswoman Suzanne Bonamici made an appearance in Columbia County this week, hosting a one-hour town hall at the Columbia City Community Hall on Thursday, Sept. 21.

Roughly 100 people filled the Columbia City building Thursday night to ask the congresswoman questions and voice concerns about national and state policies.

Two Oregon lawmakers are calling for a federal investigation into the conduct of immigration agents who mistakenly approached a Latino man, demanded his name without identifying themselves and claimed he was in the country illegally.

U.S. Reps. Suzanne Bonamici and Earl Blumenauer said they were "greatly disturbed" by Isidro Andrade-Tafolla's account of what happened after he and his wife left the Washington County Courthouse on Monday morning. Andrade-Tafolla is a U.S. citizen who has worked for the county for almost 20 years in road maintenance.

Oregon lawmakers Earl Blumenauer and Suzanne Bonamici want US Immigration Customs and Enforcement to investigate an incident outside the Washington County Courthouse earlier this week, when a US citizen was repeatedly questioned on his "immigration status" by federal agents.

Rep. Peter DeFazio (OR-04), along with Reps. Greg Walden (OR-02), Earl Blumenauer (OR-03), Suzanne Bonamici (OR-01), and Kurt Schrader (OR-05) today sent a second letter to House leaders and the House Appropriations Committee requesting that emergency funding for wildland fire suppression be included in any emergency supplemental appropriations bill considered in the House for the rest of the year.

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Rep. Suzanne Bonamici sharply disagreed with Attorney General Jeff Sessions' stance on immigration and sanctuary cities in a live interview on KOIN 6 News at 4.

Bonamici, who is moving through her Oregon district for town halls, said Oregon "realized it is safer when we don't use local and state resources to enforce federal immigration laws. That is ICE's responsibility. We want everyone to participate in the justice system and to feel safe reporting crimes."

U.S. Rep. Suzanne Bonamici says she still wants to see comprehensive legislation to deal with the fate of the estimated 11 million undocumented immigrants who entered the country illegally.

But Bonamici also says she's willing to vote for specific protection against deportation of 800,000 young immigrants — known as "dreamers" — who were brought here illegally while they were children.
