Congresswomen Suzanne Bonamici (D-OR) and Jaime Herrera Beutler (R-WA) praised the House of Representatives for passing legislation to help prepare coastal communities for tsunami and update the United States’ tsunami warning systems.

Congresswoman Bonamici and members of the House and Senate Education Committees requested that the Department of Education enforce requirements in law that direct states and school districts to consult with local stakeholders.
