As U.S. Rep. Suzanne Bonamici continues her campaign against the fentanyl epidemic, a Beaverton parent helping lead the charge will stand alongside her at the 2024 State of the Union on Thursday, March 7.
February is CTE Month and a time to recognize the contributions CTE programs make to the economy, along with the important work being done by CTE professionals and teachers across the country. As co-chairs of the bipartisan Congressional CTE Caucus and senior members of the House Committee on Education and the Workforce, we strongly support CTE programs that provide learners of all ages with career-ready skills.
Bonamici is concerned about provisions in the legislation that would roll back consumer protections put in place by the Biden administration and eliminate the Parent Plus and Grad Plus loan programs.
“We should be making it easier to get a college education, not make it harder and more expensive,” she said, noting that many of the programs in the road map are designed to help students get to and through college.
