Information regarding my stance on Fiscal Responsibility issues.

Today I was proud to vote for a bill to guarantee that workers will be paid once this shutdown finally concludes. This should provide a small measure of certainty for federal employees, but it does not change the unacceptable fact that about 800,000 employees will miss their paycheck today.

It is deeply troubling that GOP Congressional leaders and President Trump have put politics over the safety of our nation and the livelihoods of hundreds of thousands of federal employees who are now furloughed through the holidays with no relief in sight.

On National Dam Safety Awareness Day, Congresswoman Suzanne Bonamici (D-OR) toured Scoggins Dam and received an update about federally-funded safety and storage improvements to the dam currently being studied by Clean Water Services and the Bureau of Reclamation. Scoggins Dam is one of the most seismically vulnerable facilities in the Bureau's inventory.
