Bonamici, an Oregon Democrat who represents the North Coast, said she and her staff are safe. "I'm OK," the congresswoman said. "But it's just awful. I'm concerned for the safety of everyone." Nick Clemens, a spokesman for U.S. Rep. Cliff Bentz, an Oregon Republican who called for an investigation into the presidential election, said the congressman and all his staff were safe and awaiting word on next steps. Clemens declined to discuss Bentz's position on the objections to the Electoral College vote.

"Trump repeatedly incited this act of domestic terrorism, including encouraging armed protestors this very morning, steps from the Capitol. The Feb. 19 arrest sparked outrage, including from U.S. Rep. Suzanne Bonamici, a Beaverton Democrat whose House district includes all of Washington County. Bonamici has lobbied without success for Congress to pass a bill she has sponsored to keep ICE away from bus stops, schools, courthouses and other "sensitive locations."

Streamlining Income-driven, Manageable Payments on Loans for Education (SIMPLE) Act (H.R. 3833). Introduced by Rep. Suzanne Bonamici (D-OR-1) with 5 cosponsors on 7/18/2019, this bipartisan bill automates the updating of income information for borrowers in income-driven repayment plans.
