Oregon lawmakers wasted no time in publicly supporting House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's call for an official impeachment inquiry against President Trump.

The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission continues to file charges and lawsuits but is not pursuing its mandate to combat discrimination as vigorously as it could because it does not have a full complement of commissioners, experts say.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) formally announced an impeachmet inquiry against President Donald Trump Tuesday afternoon as more and more members of her party come out in support of the action.

Rep. Suzanne Bonamici (D, OR-1) first called for an impeachment inquiry in May, but on Monday emphasized the need to ramp-up the investigation.

U.S. Rep. Suzanne Bonamici will be in Gearhart for a town hall on Oct. 7.

"Constituent input informs the work I do, including taking action on the climate crisis, addressing student loan debt, and making sure everyone can access affordable health care," the Oregon Democrat said in a news release.

U.S. Sen. Jeff Merkley (D-Ore.), Sen. Ron Wyden and Rep. Suzanne Bonamici (D-Ore.) announced their support Tuesday for an official impeachment inquiry into President Donald Trump.

Oregon's delegation in Congress weighed in on Tuesday on the news that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi had authorized a formal impeachment inquiry into the conduct of President Donald Trump.

Rep. Suzanne Bonamici issued a statement."Bonamici first came out in support of an impeachment inquiry in May. She has repeatedly reiterated her support for beginning an inquiry, including following the recent reports about Trump's improper phone call with the President of Ukraine."

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi announced a formal impeachment inquiry of President Donald Trump on Tuesday.

"I commend Speaker Pelosi for moving forward with an impeachment inquiry," said Congresswoman Suzanne Bonamici. "The President admitted to asking a foreign government to investigate a political adversary. He must be held accountable for this impeachable offense, along with his many other wrongdoings that have betrayed the trust of the American people and undermined our democracy."

Federal leaders who enforce anti-discrimination laws assured House members last week that they're still committed to protecting workers' civil rights despite lawmakers' criticism about the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission's (EEOC's) decision not to collect pay data—broken down by job category, race, sex and ethnicity—in the future.
