Congresswoman Suzanne Bonamici (OR-01) made the following statement regarding the President’s announcement that he supports gay marriage:

“I applaud President Obama for his announcement today supporting gay marriage. Marriage equality is a fundamental civil rights issue, and it is more important than ever that we stand united. This is an historic day for the LGBTQ community and our nation as a whole. Well done, Mr. President!”

PORTLAND, OR – Congresswoman Suzanne Bonamici (OR-1) is pleased to announce the winner of this year’s Congressional Art Competition for Oregon’s First District. Harrison Wallace of Portland won the contest with his photograph entitled, “Love in the Third Degree.” Congresswoman Bonamici will host a reception to celebrate Harrison’s winning submission Tuesday evening at her district office in Portland. Members of the community and press are invited to attend.
