WASHINGTON DC [9/21/2022] – Today Congresswoman Suzanne Bonamici (D-OR), Congressman John Katko (R-NY), and Senator Chris Murphy (D-CT) introduced a resolution to designate the week of September 19, 2022, as Malnutrition Awareness Week. The resolution recognizes the importance of federal nutrition programs in combatting malnutrition and hunger.

This year marks our nation's 10th observance of Malnutrition Awareness Week. We are a member of Congress and the national coordinator of the Defeat Malnutrition Today coalition. This year we are collaborating on a resolution acknowledging the importance of this week, with a special focus on nutrition as a patient right.

WASHINGTON, DC [09/15/22] – Today Congresswoman Suzanne Bonamici (OR-01) introduced legislation to promote pregnancy intention screenings. These screenings increase conversations between patients and health care providers about whether the patient intends to become pregnant, helping people access the care they need to prevent unintended pregnancies and improve the likelihood of healthy pregnancies.
