Of course the US should not fund terrorism by Iran or any adversary, but this bill is a misguided and misleading attempt by Republicans to confuse the American public about the deal that the Biden Administration reached earlier this year for the release of American hostages held in Iran. 

We need a new path forward; a path that will save Israeli and Palestinian lives.

The rise in antisemitism, hate, racism, and bigotry in our country cannot be tolerated, and the hateful rhetoric we are hearing on a daily basis must end.  

Today I voted against the so-called Israel Security Supplement Appropriations Act. Importantly, the bill lacks funding for humanitarian aid that is urgently needed by Israelis and Palestinians.

Before the vote today, the U.S. House of Representatives had only used the process to vacate the Speaker of the House once. That was more than a century ago, and the motion failed. This is a serious moment in the history of this institution.
