I rise today in opposition to H.R. 7521, the Protecting Americans from Foreign Adversary Controlled Applications Act.

We must do more to protect personal information online, safeguard national security, and protect our electoral system from foreign interference, but targeting TikTok is the wrong approach.

Today I voted against Speaker Johnson’s cynical and political funding bill.

I condemn the remarks of Prime Minister Netanyahu and the rhetoric of Israel’s far-right government leaders who want to deny Palestinians the right to a state.

Of course the US should not fund terrorism by Iran or any adversary, but this bill is a misguided and misleading attempt by Republicans to confuse the American public about the deal that the Biden Administration reached earlier this year for the release of American hostages held in Iran. 

We need a new path forward; a path that will save Israeli and Palestinian lives.

The rise in antisemitism, hate, racism, and bigotry in our country cannot be tolerated, and the hateful rhetoric we are hearing on a daily basis must end.  

Today I voted against the so-called Israel Security Supplement Appropriations Act. Importantly, the bill lacks funding for humanitarian aid that is urgently needed by Israelis and Palestinians.
