Oregon Representative Suzanne Bonamici touted affordable housing solutions in Portland on Thursday during a visit to Terminal 2 in Slab Town.
“[They can] start building these prototype houses that will be able to help fill a desperate need for affordable housing,” said Rep. Bonamici. “They are working on six right now and hopefully do more mass production. So it's very exciting to be here and actually see the homes being built."
Speaking at a podium, Congresswoman Suzanne Bonamici, City Commissioner Carmen Rubio, Prosper Portland Executive Director Kimberly Branam and labor representative Twauna Hennessee touted the diversity of the workers involved in the demolition project. Mayor Ted Wheeler was a surprise addition to roster.
