Urban farms in Northwest Oregon connect more people to locally grown, healthy food.

We write to congratulate you on the Department of Energy’s (DOE) proactive implementation of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL) and the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA). These laws will retain and create family sustaining union jobs that will give all workers in the United States the opportunity to enter the middle-class, while simultaneously preventing the worst impacts of climate change and lowering energy costs for consumers.

We write today to express our fervent hope that Providence and the Oregon Nurses Association will come back together in good faith and with all due haste to negotiate new employment contracts for the 1800 nurses and clinical staff at Providence Portland Medical Center, Providence Seaside Hospital, and Providence Home Health and Hospice.

Oregon families in urban and rural areas have told me that child care costs more than their housing. This is unacceptable.

Last Congress we passed robust investments in renewable energy that will jumpstart our clean energy future. And importantly, we also passed some of the largest investments in America’s workers.

When food banks can purchase from farmers, more families will have access to nutritious local foods and more small and medium-size farms will benefit.
