U.S. Representative Suzanne Bonamici found herself in Buxton for at least the second time this year on Friday, September 8, this time touring Public Coast Farm, which has a Fisher Road address and also abuts Highway 26 to one side and the proposed Salmonberry Trail to the other.
About 60% of college students who are eligible for food assistance benefits don’t receive them, according to a federal study.
Federal lawmakers, including Oregon’s Sen. Ron Wyden and Rep. Suzanne Bonamici, introduced legislation Tuesday in hopes of decreasing that percentage.
On a hot morning Aug. 15, Bonamici surveyed the developing site of the future riverwalk and Columbia View Park and toured the areas under construction as part of the Streets and Utilities Extension Project.
“It’s been a few years since I’ve been here, and it’s wonderful to see the vision but also the progress that’s being made; I look forward to following the process as it continues to grow,” Bonamici said.
U.S. Rep. Suzanne Bonamici visited Clatsop County on Tuesday, where she heard an update on the rehabiliation project at the South Jetty, learned about local food initiatives at the Astoria Food Hub and visited the Astoria Birth Center.
“I’m very inspired to be here in St. Helens today and see the progress that is being made along the river and the waterfront development,” Bonamici said. “It has been a few years since I’ve been here, and it’s wonderful to see the vision but also the progress that’s being made.”
